What are the charges for children?

  • Children below 2 years: Free land package (air tickets and visa fees apply).
  • Children up to 7 years: Can share existing bedding with parents (breakfast charge applies).
  • Above 7 years: Extra bed recommended. Book as “Child without Bed” or “Child with Bed” accordingly.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept debit/credit cards and bank drafts. A 50% advance is required before the tour/trek, with the balance payable on arrival.

How do I amend my reservation?
Amendments can be made via phone or email up to 15 days before the travel date.

How do I confirm my booking?
A confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours. If not received, call our customer care at +977-1-4540671 / 4540672.

  • Arrival: Our representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport with a placard bearing your name.
  • Departure: If booked, we will pick you up from your hotel. Otherwise, follow airline guidelines for timely arrival at the airport.

How long do we walk each day?

  • Soft Adventure Treks (7-10 days): 4-5 hours per day, below 4,000m altitude.
  • Moderate Treks (longer duration, higher altitude): 6-8 hours per day, physically demanding.
  • Strenuous Treks (high-altitude, remote areas): 7-9 hours per day, requires experience and fitness.

Is there communication during the trek?
Yes, mobile and internet services are available on major routes like Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang.

Can I charge my camera and mobile batteries?
Yes, charging facilities are available in most tea houses along the trek.

Is drinking water available on the trek?
Yes, you can buy bottled water or request boiled/filtered water at tea houses. We recommend bringing water purification tablets.

What happens in case of an emergency?
Our guides are trained in first aid. Initial rescue expenses are covered by Rupakot Holidays, but you must have travel insurance to cover further medical costs.

Are trekking staff insured?
Yes, we insure all guides, cooks, sherpas, and porters.

What are the qualifications of the trekking guides?
Our guides are highly trained professionals, certified by Nepal Mountaineering Association and the Ministry of Tourism. They are experienced in high-altitude conditions and carry essential medical supplies.

Do guides speak English?
Yes, our cultural tour guides are fluent in English. Trekking guides speak functional English and can explain local culture and sites.

How large are the trekking groups?

  • Fixed departures: Maximum 20 people.
  • Private treks: No size limit. Costs depend on group size, trek area, and duration.

Do you arrange private treks?
Yes, private treks can be customized for individuals, families, or groups. We provide experienced local guides and porters.

What about safety and security?

  • Our guides are government-certified and highly reliable.
  • For camping treks, a Sherpa guards the campsite at night.
  • For tea house treks, take standard precautions and keep your lodge room locked.

How fit do I need to be for trekking?
Moderate fitness is required. Regular exercise and comfort with high-altitude conditions are recommended.

What is Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS)?
AMS results from rapid altitude gain and can cause headaches, nausea, and fatigue. Severe cases can lead to High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE) or High Altitude Cerebral Edema (HACE). Proper acclimatization helps prevent AMS.

What services are included in treks?

  • Service Trek: Accommodation, English-speaking guide, porter (max 10kg), transportation, and airfare.
  • Package Trek: Includes all the above plus three meals a day (excluding drinks like tea/coffee).

What is the best time for trekking?

  • Best months: September-December & February-May.
  • October & November: Ideal trekking conditions with warm weather.
  • December-February: Cold at high altitudes but still suitable for trekking.
